Kerala, God's Own Country
On 18th November 2012 we took around 3:20 pm Air India flight for the Kozikot (Calicut) at the same time when Mumbai got stopped because of Bala Saheb Thakeray last death rituals was going on. Around 4:45 pm we reach Calicut in Kerala. Air ports was very quite not much crowded. Out side also very clean and silent one can feel the essence of other city from Mumbai. We took prepaid taxi for the CIGI Head Quarters at Golf Link Road, Chevayur. He took approx. 475/-. It is 1 hour 10 mins. drive from Air port. On the way we can see the greenery and the beauty of Calicut.
On this visit we have visited the "Jamia Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya". Amazing Muslim institute or i can one of the best in India, very good huge infra structure for the community (Maharashtra Muslims are far behind as compare to them). Alhamdullilah they are doing excellent. When we visited the markaz we have also done one small meeting with Sheikh Aboobacker Ahmed son, he is a great man with vision. (http://www.markazonline.com/)
Second, we have also visited "Jam’iyyat Da’wa wa Tablighul Islam" better known as "JDT ISLAM Group", they are also running huge campuses and many other educational institutes. Withing the same campus they are running Medical, Engineering, Pharmacy, Women's college, Orphanage home, Girls and Boys hostel (region wise separation in different buildings). This is also its kind of only institute group of Muslim community you will not find any where in India.
Aslo they are running the India's First ISO 9001:2000 certified orphanage "JDT ISLAM ORPHANAGE" for the Management of an Orphanage related to providing Education, Housing and related activities by the Germanischer Llyod Certification GmbH, Hamburg,Germany. It is a charitable, cosmopolitan and educational institution, established in the year 1922, recognized and aided by both the Kerala Government and the Government of India and managed by a registered committee.
This hear they have received Presidential award for there orphanage from our President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee as best Orphanage in India.
Our main purpose of this CIGI visit is to get knowledge for running the education guidance and counselling service center in Mumbai for the Muslim community and for everyone. CIGI is crossing the milestone of 15 years of committed services to the society.
On our last day we have visited some other places for the hangout like beaches in Calicut, few other markets for shopping. And one day we have gone to the nearest hill station in Calicut called "Wayanad". It is in the north-east of Kerala. According to archaeological evidence, the Wayanad (Vayal+nadu(Tamil/Malayalam)) forests have been inhabited for more than three thousand years. Pookkode Lake is amazing place in wayanad, we spent almost 4 to 5 hours there.
It was beautiful experience with friends and teachers.
Last day we have left CIGI hostel around 4:30 am in the morning to reach Air port. we offered our Fajar Salah on the way in small masjid near airport.
